In-Person Support Group

We are excited to continue offering our in-person support group. Each group session will be on the first Wednesday of every month, from 2-3pm. Participants must register by the Friday prior at 5pm. Sessions are limited to 8 participants, so once registered, please let us know if you are unable to attend.

This group is open to the community and Hospice of Davidson County families. Emily Lewitt, one of our Grief Counselors, will lead this group each month with various topics that are relevant for the needs of the group.

Introduction and Guidelines

A support group is a gathering of people with a similar concern who are merely present for each other. They are not present to tell each other how they should feel or think, but rather, to hear ideas from each other that may be helpful in their own lives. The purpose of a support group is to help people break down the isolation they may feel in their pain and discover they are not alone in their thoughts and feelings. The support group encourages people to say what they want to say and make connections with one another in a safe environment.

For safety of all staff and participants, please do not attend sessions if you are currently experiencing any of the following symptoms.

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty breathing
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Fever (100.4 degrees or greater)
  • Chills (rigors)
  • Muscle aches (myalgias)
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Fatigue
  • If you have had close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or greater) with anyone (including household members) who had a positive COVID-19 diagnostic test in the past 14 days.
