2025 marks the 40th anniversary of Hospice of Davidson County – a milestone we’ve proudly celebrated throughout the year.

We are so excited to release a special project that brings our legacy to life in a meaningful way. Behind the scenes, Cole Warner, Director of Support Services and Digital Health Education, has been leading the development of a powerful storytelling series that captures the untold stories behind the founding and evolution of Hospice of Davidson County.  Through candid interviews with founders, stakeholders, staff, and community members, More Meaningful Moments: 40 Years of Compassionate Care offers a powerful narrative of dedication, innovation, and human connection. Each episode explores a different chapter—from the early grassroots efforts and medical challenges to the deeply personal moments that define hospice care. This series not only preserves the legacy of a vital community institution but also reflects on how we live, die, and care for one another along the way.

November 3rd, 2025: “Introduction” 

This episode introduces our upcoming guests, and you can hear some behind-the-scenes discussion on the agency’s foundation, current stature, and future direction. The first three episodes of More Meaningful Moments: 40 Years of Compassionate Care take us back to the beginning of Hospice of Davidson County – a grassroots effort built on compassion, community, and a belief that care at the end-of-life matters. Host, Director of Support Services and Digital Health Education Program


Cole Warner is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina who has been with Hospice of Davidson County for over six years. He serves as the Director of Support Services and oversees the agency’s Digital Health Education Program. Since 2021, Cole has also been the Host and Producer of the Community Connections Podcast, which highlights stories and conversations around end-of-life care and community support. He has obtained a bachelor of arts in psychology, and a masters in clinical mental health counseling. Cole is currently contributing to a forthcoming textbook for palliative care resident physicians with a section focused on grief and loss. Cole has been working with grieving individuals and families since 2018, providing compassionate guidance and education through both clinical and community settings.
