HOSPICE OF DC TO OFFER VOLUNTEER TRAINING
Hospice of Davidson County will offer volunteer training classes Tuesday, September 27th – Thursday, September 29th,
from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., at their Home Care/Administration Building located at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington. The consecutive afternoon sessions will offer training to equip volunteers in helping patients and caregivers receiving home care services. Hospice of Davidson County was initially founded by volunteers and continues to rely heavily on volunteer support to meet patient/family needs and assist with administrative and fundraising activities. In 2010, the agency cared for over 600 patients and provided volunteer support to nearly 100 patients and families. Homecare volunteers are at the heart of hospice care and critical to providing for patients and families.
